KFC is the Best Fried Chicken You’ll Ever Eat
To my dearest Fried Chicken:
Thank you for inspiring me to keep pushing on, just when hunger reaps its terrible death grasp. Thank you for giving me a reason to live. Thank you for feeding the drunk beast. Thank you for giving me a boost of self-confidence whenever I saw you at a pizza party as a young boy.
For those who don’t know, growing up as a child hating pizza was equivalent to saying you’re a Trump-supporter at a Bernie Sanders rally…they try so hard to turn you. Fried chicken saved me because it allowed me to own the excuse: “I don’t feel like having pizza today, chicken is where it’s at bitches.” That one line changed my life as a kid, and sure as hell created a ton of leftover slices to fatten the birthday boy, sorry Tommy. So for that, thank you Fried Chicken…you’re my hero.

P.S. On certain days, we honor heroes. Today is one of them. For those who don’t know, today is National Fried Chicken Day.
And on this special day, I want to give a quick shout out to the one place that has given me strength in times of weakness, and awful embarrassment in times of Uncle Paul’s repulsive nickel-and-diming, Kentucky Fried Chicken (aka KFC). KFC became a staple as a young child. Memories of my father burning every type of grilled product while barbecuing, led to utter disappointment from a young Brian – which led to dad buying a 20-piece bucket & my favorite NO-gravy mashed potatoes. KFC, you rock and I’ll never forget that. Thank you.
(Okay, my thoughts of the day are over. I apologize because this article isn’t really going anywhere – just wanted to say how much I love fried chicken, KFC, and Fried Chicken Day. Have a great day ya’ll, comment with your favorite fried chicken place or something…let’s start a war.)
